Marathon Extraction Tactics for Consistent Successful Runs

Most Runners die at extraction, not mid-map. You can loot perfectly for twenty minutes and lose everything to a camper watching your exit. Extraction tactics separate profitable Runners from frustrated ones.

Route planning before you drop

Pick your extraction point before you spawn, not after you loot. Work backward from the exit: identify two alternate routes, one UESC-heavy path to avoid, and a mid-map pivot point if your primary exit gets camped.

High-traffic loot zones attract Runners AND UESC. The best routes often skirt hot zones entirely — lower loot density but much higher survival rate. Use ESP to verify your route is clear before committing.

Third-party timing and when to fight

When you hear gunfire nearby, the correct move is usually to wait 10–15 seconds, not rush in. Let Runners weaken each other, then clean up the survivor. This costs time but saves health and ammo for extraction.

Never fight at extraction unless you must. If someone is camping your exit, rotate to your alternate route even if it costs five extra minutes. Dying with a full bag is always worse than a delayed extract.

Loot priority and bag management

Fill your bag with high-value, low-weight items first. Marathon rewards efficient looting — a bag of rare components beats a bag of common gear every time. Drop low-value items mid-run if you find better loot.
